The fundamental component of any intraoperative computer-aided surgery system is its tracking system. CICAS is actively engaged in research aimed at improving system accuracy by studying errors that affect tracking systems. Since image guidance systems are limited by total system accuracy, this is a critical area of research. By studying tracking errors, we hope to gain a better understanding of where inaccuracies occur, which will result in greater precision.
